Ultimate Newsletter 1.1.0 introduces a new feature to import or export subscribers. You can import subscribers in mass through a CSV file or by just filling the subscriber details (Email Address, Name) in a Text Area. Likewise, you can export subscribers of the plugin in CSV format.

How to Import?

1. Go to your "WordPress Admin Panel => Ultimate Newsletter => Subscribers"

2. Find the button named ”Import Subscribers” and just click it.

3. Now, you should get a form asking the following details,

How do you want to import?

By default this should be as "Copy paste in a text box".

Copy paste in a text box

You must see a large Text Area when this option is selected.

Select this method,

1. To copy and paste the subscriber details from somewhere else.

2. To manually enter the subscriber details one by one.

Note this needs to be in CSV style and each subscriber details must be in one line.

Example:

This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., User One
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , User Two
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., User Three

After entering the subscriber details, select the "Email groups" to which you like to import the subscribers and select the “Status”. Keep this always “Subscribed”.

Finally hit the “Import Subscribers” button. That’s it. All Done.

You can see the imported subscribers under "WordPress Admin Panel => Ultimate Newsletter => Subscribers"

Upload a CSV file

Select this method when you already have subscribers list in CSV file format.

When selected, you must see an option to upload your CSV file. Just upload your CSV file, select the “Email groups” and set the “Status”. Then, hit the “Continue to Import” button. You must see another screen with a table that lists all the subscriber details in the same order you’ve added them in your CSV file.

Import Newsletters

At present “Ultimate Newsletter” only require 2 details from the user/subscriber(Email Address, Name). If your CSV file uses the same order(Email ID, Name), then just scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Import Subscribers” button to complete the import action. But, sometimes the CSV file you’ve in your system may use a different order (Name, Email ID). In such case, use the Select boxes in the header of your table columns and assign the select fields the appropriate column name the column details belongs to. And, hit the “Import Subscribers” to complete the import.

That’s it.

NOTE:

If the user already exists (based on its e-mail address), the user information(Name, Email, Status) won't be updated except the "Email Groups".

For example, If there is an user/subscriber already in your website and he had subscribed to "Group A" and you have his email ID again in the Import list. But, now you’re importing the details to "Group B". Then, this subscriber will be subscribed to both the email groups "Group A" and "Group B" and other details of the user are not updated.
