Installation and Activation
Installing "Another Events Calendar" is just like any other WordPress plugin. Navigate to your WordPress “Plugins” page, inside of your WordPress dashboard, and follow these instructions:
- In the search field enter "Another Events Calendar". Click “Search Plugins”, or hit Enter.
- Select "Another Events Calendar" and click “Install Now”.
- Once installed, click “Activate”.
One thing which you will notice immediately after the installation is the appearance of a new section named "Events Calendar". Let’s look into this.
STEP 1: Setting Up Another Events Calendar
After installing the extension, the first step is configure the plugin settings to meet your purpose.
You can edit the plugin settings under "Wordpress Admin panel => Another Events Calendar => Settings". There are General settings, Pages settings, Advanced settings. Each one of the settings is interpreted here.
STEP 2: Adding Events
Assumed you have configured the plugin as per your need. Now, let us start adding events.
Go to your "Wordpress Admin panel => Another Events calendar => Add New"
You will get a form similar to the standard WordPress "Post" form. Just fill in your details and save the form to get the event listed in your website.
This form allows you to,
- Add Event Title
- Add description for your Event
- Create or select event categories. An Event may contain multiple categories.
- Create or select event tags. An Event may contain multiple tags.
- Create or select event venue.
- Create or select event organizers. An Event may contain multiple organizers.

STEP 3: Showcase your Events in the Front End
After having added all your events, it's time to add them to your site front-end. So, your users can see them.
During the plugin installation, "Another Events Calendar" will add some pages dynamically in your website. You can find these pages under "WordPress Admin Panel => Pages => All Pages". Nearly 14 pages are added by the plugin and you will only need to add the following pages to your site menu to showcase your events.
- Calendar Page
- Events Page
- Categories Page
Each page displays the events in different manner.
For example, "Calendar Page" can be used to show your events in a monthly calendar where as the "Events Page" show your events as a grid or table. You will have to add these pages as a menu item by using the standard Menu functionality of WordPress under "WordPress Admin Panel => Appearance => Menus". So, your users can click a menu item and see your events.
Alternatively, you can use our Shortcodes to display the events in your existing pages.
STEP 4: Allow your Users to add their Events in your website
Starting from 1.5.0 version, "Another Events Calendar" plugin can be used to add events from your site front-end. This is useful if you're a Event Management company and you allow your users to promote their events in your website.
To allow your users to submit their events, you just need to add the following pages as menu items. You can find these pages under "WordPress Admin Panel => Pages => All Pages".
