Is it possible to get the post listed in the main blog loop?

Do you mean in a front page along with other posts? Another Events Calendar uses Custom Post Type "aec_events". So, this is possible by filtering the main query to get posts from other post types too.

Also, I doubt you're speak about displaying EVENTS as a front page. If yes, just add the EVENTS page as a static front page.
